Location: Umm Al Nar East, Emirate of Abu Dhabi, overlooking the Persian Gulf.

Construction:
- Technology and Design: Italimpianti (now Fisia Italimpianti), using proprietary know-how.
- Client: Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Department.
Technology Used – MSF (Multi-Stage Flash Distillation):
The plant consists of three independent units, each with a production capacity of 1,400 m³/hour. MSF technology is based on rapid evaporation (flash evaporation) in multiple stages at decreasing pressures, ensuring continuity and reliability in the production of fresh water.
Production capacity:
- 1,400 m³/hour for each unit
- Total daily production of 21 million gallons of water
Operational autonomy:
The project included the construction of an unconventional power plant for the production of steam, obtained from the recovery of hot gas turbine exhaust fumes, as well as all auxiliary systems for the station.
Strategic value:
Built during a period of strong economic and infrastructural growth for the United Arab Emirates, the Umm Al Nar East plant represented a fundamental step towards ensuring water supply in a context of urban and industrial expansion.
