Plant type:
Consortium plant for the biological treatment of wastewater from the Lamezia industrial area, designed to ensure effective purification of wastewater with a high organic content and suspended solids.
Treatment capacity:
- Flow rate: 300 m³/hour
- Process and technology:
The plant uses a biological activated sludge process, with oxidation tanks and two circular clarifiers for secondary sedimentation. The cycle is completed by a sludge treatment plant, including thickening, dewatering, and controlled disposal.
Purification performance:
- Inlet: BOD 880 ppm – COD 1750 ppm – Suspended solids 660 ppm
- Outlet: BOD 40 ppm – COD 160 ppm – Suspended solids 80 ppm
Strategic value
The Sant'Eufemia plant has represented a significant step in the modernization of environmental infrastructure in Southern Italy, contributing to improving water quality and the region's industrial sustainability. It is an early example of an integrated approach to purification, with a focus on purification efficiency and resource reuse.
