Execution:

  • Technology and design: Fisia Italimpianti
  • Supply and integration: water treatment and Life Support Systems (LSS) for large-scale aquatic environments

Technology used – LSS (Life Support Systems):
The systems are based on advanced seawater treatment and recirculation processes, designed to ensure stable and controlled environmental conditions. Technologies include filtration, disinfection, and regulation of physical-chemical parameters, essential for recreating natural marine habitats.

Capacity and key features:

  • Management of thousands of cubic meters of seawater
  • Over 10,000 marine organisms hosted (Genoa)
  • Continuous control of temperature, water quality, and salinity

Significance:
This project represents an advanced application of Fisia Italimpianti's expertise in water treatment in highly biologically complex environments. The company has contributed to the construction of two of Europe's most important aquariums (after Genoa, in 1998, it will also supply the water treatment system (LSS) to the Lisbon Aquarium) ensuring operational reliability and optimal conditions for the conservation of marine biodiversity.
