Implementation:
- Technology and design: Italimpianti (now Fisia Italimpianti), with the development of dedicated solutions for the treatment of petroleum wastewater in a port environment.
- Construction and plant integration: implementation of two treatment lines, reception facilities, and automation systems for operational management.
Technology used – Oily wastewater treatment:
The treatment process for ballast water and slops was structured in several stages, starting with gravitational separation to remove coarse oil fractions, followed by final oil removal through flotation. The separated oil was recovered and made available for reuse, contributing to overall system efficiency.
The line dedicated to washing water operated in a closed loop, based on a system of interconnected storage tanks that enabled optimization of the reuse of treated water.
Treatment capacity:
- Ballast water and slops: 500 m³/hour
- Washing water: 100 m³/hour
- Capability for simultaneous reception from multiple tankers via independent lines
Automation systems:
Both lines were managed by a fully automated control system, designed to ensure operational safety, continuity of service, and flexibility in flow management.
