Fisia Italimpianti participates at Idra World Congress 2024
The combined forces of population growth, increasing industrial water demands and the threatening specter of rising global temperatures are exacerbating water security conditions worldwide. In the face of growing water security challenges and the impact of climate change-induced droughts and floods, water desalination and reuse technologies emerge as resilient solutions ready to meet global water demand. These are the topics that were discussed at IDRA World Congress 2024, a unique platform for deep knowledge sharing and impactful interaction to address water scarcity.
In one of the technical session of the event, Giorgio Pratofiorito, Water Treatment & Desalination Technologist, presented a paper dedicated to the management of discharges from seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) plants, with an in-depth analysis of current Italian legislation, showing how desalination can be an effective tool in the production of fresh water in compliance with the most stringent environmental regulations.
